\"rt_309\"<\/a>I just finished a new piece that will be displayed at the Charity Art Gala<\/a> on August 16th in NYC.<\/p>\n

The piece is called rt_309<\/a>. It’s a mashup of a memory I have of driving up route 309 on the way to Tamaqua, PA. The memory is linked to the album Is This It<\/a> by The Strokes so that whenever I hear that album, I see the valley and town of Tamaqua in my head. I took a mp3 from that albumn, converted into image data, and layered it into the work. The Flatiron building pic I used is a photo I found on Flickr by Seth Gaines<\/a>. He graciously allowed me to mashup his CC licensed pic.<\/p>\n

Wednesday, August 16th, at the Xchange Loft in New York City my company is hosting its first annual Charity Art Gala.
\nThe event will be a unique combination of contemporary art exhibition, live musical performances, and open bar cocktail event.
\nProceeds from ticket sales, and 15% of all art sales will go to benefit
\nthe Change For Kids (www.changeforkids.com<\/a>) organization.
\nCFK runs after school programs in art, music and education for New
\nYork’s most under resourced public schools.
\nThe artwork and performances will be a mixture of the accomplished and the up-and-coming.
